Due to generous donations or scholarship offerings from community members and local organizations, Attica High School students have a unique opportunity to apply for various awards. Please pay attention to the requirements and deadlines for each scholarship. Some require essays, some need to be returned to the Counseling Office, while others need to be mailed to the originator. At that above link you will see information for the following scholarship documents:
Al Feeney Scholarship
Awarded to a student enrolled in higher education program with outstanding leadership skills.
Attica Central School District Employees Scholarship
Applicant must have been accepted for admission as a full-time student in an accredited college or university, have an overall GPA (all credit bearing courses) of 85 by the end of the 1st semester in January, and submit 2 letters of recommendation from someone other than school personnel. YOU MUST BE SIGNED INTO YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT LINKED TO ATTICACSD.ORG. YOU CANNOT USE A PERSONAL E-MAIL ADDRESS TO ACCESS THIS APPLICATION FORM.
Attica Area Chamber of Commerce
Awarded to a high school senior from Attica and Alexander Schools who plans on attending a SUNY School.
Attica Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who resides in the Attica School District. Student must provide two letters of recommendation (see application for details) and complete the application in its entirety by the deadline.
Attica Garden Club Scholarship
Students who plan to pursue a course of study in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field at an accredited college, university or vocational institution are encouraged to apply.
Attica Lions Club
Awarded to a senior who has a genuine desire to further his/her education and needs financial assistance. No award will be made until the applicant has been enrolled at the college or training institution in question.
Attica Sons of the American Legion
Students must have a relative who has served in the military and must have an 80 overall average.
Attica Wyoming Correctional Employees Federal Credit Union
Must be a member of a participating credit union. Membership is open to all current and retired employees of Attica, Wyoming, Wende, Albion, Groveland, Livingston, and Orleans Correctional Facilities and their immediate family members. Membership is also open to all village and town of Attica employees. Applications are available in the Scholarship folder and also in the Counseling Office.
Bennington Volunteer Fire Company
Student must: 1) Must be a resident of the Bennington Volunteer Fire Company Fire District, 2) Currently enrolled or planning to enroll as a part time or full time student in the fall, 3) Currently pursuing or planning to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
Bert Zeitler Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving Attica student with strong experience in Visual Arts, Theatre, and/or Music.
Charles Rogers Memorial Scholarship
Must be the child or grandchild of a Corrections Officer or someone working in Law Enforcement.
Character Excellence Scholarship
The Character Council of Western New York, is pleased to award $1000 cash scholarships to high school seniors who exemplify character in their daily lives and who will be attending a college or trade school post- graduation.
Christopher Day Board of Education Award
Open to seniors who plan to learn a skilled trade. The money will assist students with further education costs or support direct entry into the workforce.
Darien Center Chemical Volunteer Fire Company Scholarship
Awarded to a High School Senior who is a resident of the Darien Fire District (map provided on application) who has applied for continuing education.
Francis Kehl Scholarship
Scholarship open to Lions/ Trailblazers Members and Attica High School Seniors where Fran Kehl graduated.
Genesee Valley Secondary Principal Association Scholarship
Minimum 90% Cumulative average, minimum 4 credits each in Math and Science, must be pursuing post-secondary education.
Jake Lavrincik Memorial Scholarship
Student must be furthering their education preferably in the field of Mental Health, Addictions or Counseling. Secondary consideration may also be given to a student who plans to pursue a career in healthcare.
Janet Blair Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to a senior girl who was involved in Varsity sports and has applied to college.
Java-Strykersville Kiwanis Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must reside in the Town of Java or Town of Sheldon, submit a 200 word essay, and provide 3 letters of reference.
Jill Kirby Conley Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship is based off of the following criteria: Academic standing; Participation in extracurricular school activities and/or community organizations; and Demonstration of good character, citizenship, and leadership skills.
New York State School Facilities Association Construction/Trade Scholarship
Two $1,000 scholarships. One scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who is enrolled in a program that will prepare them for a career in the construction field. The other $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who is enrolling in traditional college.
Raymond C. Southard Memorial Scholarship
$500 Scholarship will be given to an Attica Central Senior who is pursuing a post high school degree or certification. To be awarded to a student who has demonstrated perseverance and can show that encouragement of an adult in their life has impacted them in a positive way.
Joan Wittman Scholar Award
Mrs. Wittman was a teacher at the Sheldon Elementary school. This award is open to any high school senior.
Sheldon Historical Society Memorial Scholarship
The candidate should be someone of good character, who might in the future belong to a historical society, or be involved in giving back to their community in some way. They should be planning to enroll in a college or trade school after their graduation from Holland, Attica or Pioneer High School. Preference may be given to applicants who are residents of the Town of Sheldon, or if they are planning a career in history or education.
STEM/Future Scientist Award
Given to a High School Senior who is interested in pursuing a career in a STEM field.
Richard Eschborn Eagle Scout Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be an Eagle Scout and a graduating senior at Holland, Pioneer, Iroquois or Attica.
The Satoshi Nakamoto Scholarship
$500 scholarship for those who want to build and discover new things. For those who have an aptitude for STEM, pursuing a career as an engineer, scientist, software developer or entrepreneur.
Teddy Harding Memorial Scholarship
$500 scholarship is to help a student achieve their goals in the Field of Engineering or Building Trades.
Town of Darien Republican Committee
This $1000 Scholarship is open to any student who resides in the Town of Darien and who will be enrolled in college, trade school or the armed forces.
Varysburg Lions Club Scholarship
The Varysburg Lions offer two scholarships of $500 each to a current high school senior who is planning to attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student. Essay, Resume, and Transcript required.
Wyoming County Farm Bureau
Any senior accepted to an accredited college or university, interested in pursuing a career in agriculture of agri-business is eligible to submit an application for a $1,500.00 award. Parent or guardian must be a Farm Bureau member.
