This year, the Attica Central School District is partnering with Genesee Community College to offer TRiO Upward Bound, a year-round college prep course designed to help students complete their high school education and get into college.
During the school year, the free program offers students tutoring services, college visits and career exploration trips, ACT and SAT prep courses and financial and academic advisement, among many other things.
The program also offers enrolled students a six-week enrichment program over the summer. The summer program offers academic classes, field trips to cultural and educational events, free meals and transportation as well as stipends for attendance and participation in the program.
To be eligible for the program, students must be from a family that meets federal income guidelines or whose parent or guardian does not have a four-year college degree.
