Dear Attica Central School Community,
It’s easy, amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, to become so focused on immediate tasks that we lose sight of the broader picture. I know I’m guilty of this myself—there are days when I pause and realize I’ve been immersed in the demands of our schools, momentarily unaware of the incredible work happening all around us.
While it may sometimes feel tempting to retreat into the familiar and focus solely on what’s within our immediate purview, doing so doesn’t advance our mission. It doesn’t enhance the educational experiences of our students, improve the well-being of our staff, or strengthen the foundation of our district.
That’s why one of our district’s core values, Community and Relationships, is so essential. When we come together—students, staff, families, and community members—with a shared vision and purpose, truly remarkable things happen.
I witness the power of collaboration every day here at Attica Central Schools. Whether it’s teachers partnering to design innovative learning experiences, families supporting extracurricular activities, or the entire Attica community joining forces to collect food to help make Thanksgiving dinner a little easier for families, the power of a like-minded group of people is undeniable.
Community and relationships are not simply aspirations; they are the foundation of all we do. They remind us that, regardless of the challenges we face, we are never alone. We are part of a greater whole—a network of individuals working in unison toward a common goal: empowering our students with the tools and opportunities to succeed.
As we approach Thanksgiving, this value takes on even greater meaning. It is a time to reflect on our shared blessings, celebrate the partnerships that sustain us, and express gratitude for the connections that make our district and community so special.
I encourage each of us to take a moment to reconnect with this value. Reach out to a colleague to collaborate, engage in a community event, or volunteer for one of our district initiatives. Every contribution, no matter how small, strengthens the bonds that hold us together and propels us toward a brighter future for our students.
Together, we have the power to overcome obstacles, celebrate achievements, and ensure that Attica Central Schools remains a place where every individual feels valued, supported, and inspired.
In closing I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Thanksgiving. May this season bring you peace, joy, and the chance to recharge and spend meaningful time with family and friends. Enjoy a safe and restful Thanksgiving break.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kiel Illg
